He is a 30-year member of the American Meteorological Society and is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) by the same organization. CBM is the highest certification a broadcast meteorologist can obtain. Brad was one of the first meteorologists in the country to complete this rigorous certification. He can be seen weekdays on Channel 2 Action News at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and on WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. Brad brings years of experience guiding Georgians through countless severe weather situations and his commitment to covering North Georgia’s weather is second to none. His forecasting expertise, accuracy, and technical knowledge combined with his commitment to keep families safe during severe weather and informed when the skies are clear are what make him Atlanta’s Chief Meteorologist. Brad is driven to constant improvement through the use of innovative tools and techniques, always with the focus on providing the information viewer’s need when the weather is at its worst. Brad has received numerous awards for his work as a meteorologist, including an Emmy award for his coverage of Hurricane Irma in 2017. Brad also has several Emmy nominations for coverage of metro Atlanta’s tornadoes and flooding. He has won the Excellence Award from the Atlanta chapter of the American Meteorological Society for “Outstanding and innovative live team coverage” of severe weather. Brad also won "Best Weather Reporting" from the Associated Press several times over the years, including for his work covering tornadoes, severe weather, and winter storms in metro Atlanta. Brad graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Meteorology. Prior to joining WSB-TV Channel 2, Brad worked as a meteorologist for NBC News. He worked much of his early career forecasting hurricanes and tornadoes in Florida at stations in Orlando and Jacksonville.
