CHARLOTTE, N.C. — October 4: ASC Culture Feast
Event begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m.
The ASC Culture Feast is an opportunity for the community to gain exposure to a variety of vibrant cultural experiences. The purpose of the event is to get the arts out of the buildings and onto the streets where it can be experienced by everyone.
Tryon Street between Stonewall Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Levine Avenue between Tryon Street and Church Street will close at 9:30 a.m. and reopen at 3:00 a.m.
The estimated attendance is 900.
October 4: Strider Cup World Championship - Charlotte
Event begins at 4:00 p.m. on October 4; the overall event ends at 6:30 p.m. October 5.
The Strider Cup race Series gives young children a chance to put their Strider Balance Bike skills to the test at several stops across the US and worldwide. This unique race series caters directly to children 2-6 years old who want to experience the thrill of racing.
Brevard Street between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and the entrance to the NASCAR Hall of Fame parking deck and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Brevard Street and Caldwell Street (eastbound lane only) will close at 11:00 a.m. on October 4 and reopen at 8:00 p.m. on October 5.
The estimated attendance is 1,700.
October 4: West Charlotte High School Homecoming Parade
West Charlotte High School Homecoming Parade takes place on October 4th at 4:00 PM. It begins at the West Charlotte Recreation Center on Senior Drive and the route includes Southwest Blvd, Quientin Street and Englehardt Street. The parade ends at West Charlotte High School.
October 5: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
The event begins Saturday, October 5 at 7:45 a.m. at 401 South Tryon Street. Event organizers expect 9,000 attendees.
